The president was supposed to watch the historic SpaceX/NASA launch of the first Americans into space since 2011 at the Kennedy Space Center. However, it got delayed to Saturday due to weather conditions preventing the launch.

Space X was expected to launch NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken on a mission to the International Space Station at 3:22 pm ET Saturday.

After the launch at the Kennedy Space Center, Trump was expected to give remarks, but tweeted that he’ll be back on Saturday for the relaunch.

The re-scheduled launch date is expected Saturday at 3:22 pm ET on Wednesday, having to precisely time the earth’s rotation to not risk missing the International Space Station.

The president was accompanied on Wednesday by Vice President Mike Pence, First Lady Melania Trump, and Trump’s children Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Ivanka.

The astronauts have been in quarantine since March, to stop the risk of bringing coronavirus to the International Space Station. Mike Pence and his wife wore a mask when meeting with Hurley and Behnken.
