President Donald Trump lashed out on governors during a phone call on Monday, over the handling of the protests happening across the country, saying that “most of you are weak.”

Trump, who has previously called for forceful measures against protestors said, “You have to dominate. If you don’t dominate, you’re wasting your time. They’re going to run over you. You’re going to look like a bunch of jerks. You have to dominate.”

Washington Post reporter Robert Costa shared that Trump had a “rant” tone and called governors “fools” according to a person on the call. In addition, he called for governors to use military to deal with protests.

Costa reported that the president and Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker had a “testy exchange on the call.” Pritzker called out the president rhetoric, and Trump “replied that he doesn’t like Pritzker’s rhetoric either.”

"You’re making a mistake because you're making yourselves look like fools. And some have done a great job. But a lot of you, it’s not – it’s not a great day for our country," Trump said according to CBS reporter Ed O’Keefe.

Trump adds: "You know when other countries watch this, they’re watching this, the next day wow, they’re really a push over. And we can’t be a push over. And we have all the resources – it’s not like we don’t have the resources. So, I don’t know what you’re doing."

Trump said that he was willing to “activate” Attorney General William Barr, who was joined on the call. "The reason we have to control the streets is not just to bring peace to that town, but give us an opportunity to get the bad actors," Barr said. "Because they are going to go elsewhere, we're picking up information...it can't be a wack-a-mole, we have to take out these national instigators."
